Mr. Schwartz was admitted to the Bar of
the State of California in 1993 and joined Poindexter & Doutré'
in 1998. He is a member of the firm.
Mr. Schwartz
received his bachelor of science from U.C.L.A. in 1988 with an
emphasis in Business and Administration.
Mr. Schwartz graduated with distinction from the
University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1993. His
practice areas include probate and trust litigation, commercial
and business law and litigation, construction law and estate
planning.
Mr. Schwartz’ practice involves
complex probate and trust litigation matters, including trust
and will contest heirship determinations, complex document
interpretation, adverse property claims and administration
issues.
A primary aspect of Mr. Schwartz’ business law and litigation
practice is focused on the protection of “job rights” for
owners, general contractors, subcontractors and material
suppliers related to private and public works of improvement.
In addition, Mr. Schwartz
has handled a wide variety of lawsuits including breach of
contract, fraud, defamation, negligence, interference with
prospective economic advantage, trade secret, involuntary
corporate dissolution, franchise investment Law violations, and
secured creditor claims.
Mr. Schwartz’ litigation experience imparts a useful perspective
for the transactional matters he is involved with, including the
drafting and review of agreements, notices, disclosures, escrow
instructions, leases and business acquisition agreements. For
many years, he handled lease negotiations and provided counsel
to a nationally recognized restaurant chain and its franchisees.
Mr. Schwartz
recently became an active member of the Bar of the State of Hawaii, being admitted in 2007.
In addition to his admission to
the Bar of the State of Hawaii,
Mr. Schwartz is a member of the California State Bar, and the Los Angeles County
and Beverly Hills Bar Associations.
